The drugs don't work

The Verve are a very underrated band, I think. I figured I'd jumpstart their career by featuring this performance on my blog. Richard Ashcroft can write one hell of a song.

More proof...

Me and JT

Here's an interesting one. It looks like I am saluting my monitor or something, but in reality I think I was tryingto suppress my bushy eyebrows. It's a daily battle.

Since Justin Timberlake beat me to the punch by bringing sexy back, I am trying to figure out what it is that I am going to bring back. I think I'll be bringing fanny packs back. Leave a comment and let everyone know what you are going to be bringing back.

Daily Picture

In a never-ending quest to find the easiest possible way to add posts to my blog whilst expending the least amount of effort possible (not that the 3 of you aren't worth it!), here is a picture of me sometime this morning. I think I was reading about 411 services, but I am not sure. Enthralling, I know.

Some pictures

Here is a picture I found on Flickr of me (third row up on the left) and a bunch of other nerds before the Future of Web App conference started last Wednesday. Ironically, I was taking a picture at the time this photo was taken.

This got me thinking. I figured maybe I'll start taking pictures of myself without me actually knowing when they are taken. I have set my web cam to take photos on random times during the days and I'll post them on here occasionally. Here is the first one, from today (Sunday). I look like a Jawa.

LastFM

I signed up for LastFM (www.lastfm.com) this weekend after hearing how cool it supposedly is at the conference I went to last week. I am pretty excited to see what conclusions LastFM draws from it's analysis of my music tastes. I wonder how it is going to cope with me jumping from Master of Puppets to Ice Is Workin' It to Mr. Roboto like I did earlier today. I hope it doesn't judge too harshly.

Anyway, I think that this is a type of service/social network site that I will actually use. Whereas MySpace is aimed mostly at posers who are obsessed with displaying pictures of themselves drunk at some party, or looking way more attractive/exciting/cool/young than they ever have in real life, or sharing all of the supposedly funny videos, pictures, soundclips, games, etc. ad nausium that they've found on the internet, this site is aimed at something I am obsessed with: music. I think I'll use it. It would be nice to have some friends who are with me on this because we could share new music we've found, get recommendiations and write back and forth about the cool new shit we've discover and maybe even argue a little bit about whether GnR should reunite, but I am fine tracking my own music tastes on my own if you all are too busy sharing that video of the monkey falling off the branch after smelling his stinky finger.

With LastFM you can export and share your recently tracks, your overall favs, weekly favorite artists and tracks, and a lot more to your blog, RSS feed reader and so on. Yes, even on MySpace.

Sketching

Well, its been a while. I have been really busy with work.

Anyway, here is my first earnest attempt at a drawing using Fireworks. I must admit, it's easier for me to use a computer program to do sketches than it is to do it free hand. What I lack in inherent artistic talent I make up for in raw hours in front of a computer. I call this one "Moldy".

About me

  • I'm VP of Haterade
  • From Boise, Idaho, United States
  • Hi. I'm J. I have this blog to share my random thoughts and the random stuff I find with whoever wants to listen. If you don't like what I say or post on here, please tell me. I'd be haapy to mock, ridicule, and belittle you, your blog, any pictures you have, your poor grammar, your obviously awful taste in blogs, and anything else I can find on Google to make fun of. I will do all of these things (and more) because I am unable to handle any kind of criticism and am unable to deal with confrontation in healthy ways. Cheers.
